pc os? windows, mac, linux?
and pc specs?
can the host pc ping the lan ip of the deck?
are the ips similar? 192.168.same.different
if using windows, is windows network set to private not public
disable any vpn
if using wifi, check router settings, disable wifi isolation
most of the time black screen works if you try again,
or toggle hardware video encoding/decoding on host or client
If i kill the deck client and reconnect, theres a windows dialog saying (are you sure you want to close the app any usaved data will be lost). Then if you press no the dialog closes and the connection is lost again (screen freezes on deck).
I appreciate the d-pad not working bug fixed from the beta but streaming experience its a pain in the ass (as it is for most game tbh)
I prefer to use DLSS and frame generation, so I'm using Moonlight. Only drawback is that the stream occasionally hangs, which is really bad during a fight. (Trying updated drivers to see if that helps)
Also check out, MoonDeck on the steam deck for a more integrated experiance of launching from the deck's game library. Install ot via DeckyTools and you also need MoonDeckBuddy on the host. Google search for a Reddit post about it, there's a good guide. The guide uses Sunshine, but you can use Apollo(a sunshine fork) no problem. But for some reason you have to set the hostname of Apollo to "Sunshine" for MoonDeck to pair to it properly.
