games with launchers / splash screens

I played around with home streaming some more recently, and have had some success and some failure with games that launch via a splash screen.

Skyrim launches the splash stream, but I have to use the mouse to click through it to play the game. For someone trying to use home streaming as a game console for the TV. I've got my netbook hooked up to the TV, and have a gamepad connected to it. It's an inconvenience to have to click through the splash screen to play.

Other games, mass effect 3 and Assassin's creed 3 have given me issues and I haven't been able to stream them. ME3 launches origin. I can see the origin screens show up, but for some reason, I haven't been able to play the game. If I go to my host PC, the pc is at the main screen of the game that says "press any key to play" but I don't see that on my client. My client just crashes back to the steam big picture mode.

For AC3, I am able to launch u-play through steam, but when it gets to the window where I click single player or multiplayer, I can't click anything. mouse and keyboard didn't do anything, and controller doesn't do anything. I was stuck right there.

It seems like games that launch right into the content work well. Skyrim already is tied into steam, so it seems to work well enough, with a minor inconvenience of having to click through the splash screen. Non-steam games with launchers have been giving me issues.

Yeah, this is a huge problem for users expecting a big picture navigable experience. Even with a Steam Controller emulating a keyboard and mouse (with limited buttons) small splash screen get zoom-to-fitted on the client display and bringing up the keyboard input (to enter login details for example) the on-screen keyboard is totally off screen and not visible.
