Some flavours of Linux can allow this to happen already using other streaming software, however there is another issue:
Many Modern games use more than 50% of the PCs resources, so in short the game will be even more laggy than before.
you talking about Multiseats? i do this at home i have streamed games and played games off the same PC at the same time it's just Steam is set up for a single user but the walk around is to make it not save your user info and use Multiseat software or code it in and yes coding it in on Windows is a hoge job but on Linux it's eazy
In theroy, yes you can use Virtual Desktops to stream multiple games to Multiple Clients. But I've never tried it to say it is actually possible, but you are sharing the same resorces with other people, and games basicly take as much as they can get. A GTX 770 is fine doing one game, but trying to get that to run two games released this year may result in low quiality images for both people.
Windows has trouble supporting them, but there is An app for Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/cc817881.aspx I know some companies use this type of system in their work places, but they often are using low powered programs compared to games.
Some Linux Variants, GNOME & KDE actually have this built in to some versions of their OS. However being able for the games to run is another matter.
i have 2 in home streaming clients that stream with the self server. client 1 steam link, client 2 windows laptop lenovo w510. Server i7 6400 32gbram nvidia 1060 dual gpu.
you need software and 2 network cards and 2 screens
1.first install Aster v7 and activate 2 terminals.
2. now you must give each terminal a own ip.(Aster control center)
please use 1 ip por network card(steam bind all udp ports on a networkcard. dont use 2 ip`s in one card).
3.install steam
4. install sandboxie
5.go on terminal 2 and open sandboxie. klick on konfiguration and than edit konfiguration. notpad must open. now you earse the konfiguration from default box and copy this
[DefaultBox]
ConfigLevel=7
Template=WindowsFontCache
Template=LingerPrograms
Template=Chrome_Phishing_DirectAccess
Template=Firefox_Phishing_DirectAccess
Template=AutoRecoverIgnore
BorderColor=#00FFFF,ttl
Enabled=y
CopyLimitKb=1622850
OpenWinClass=\Device\QWAVEdrv
OpenClsid=\Device\QWAVEdrv
OpenIpcPath=\RPC Control\SbieSvcPort
OpenIpcPath=\Device\QWAVEdrv
OpenIpcPath=\RPC Control\umpo
5. go to steam folder and make a link i the self folder(sandboxie can not find the exe, but the ink)
6. open sandboxie and open the windows integration. my sandboxie is german. "verknüpfung hinzufügen" is it by me... open your link from steam and now you have "[defaultBox] steam" on your desktop
7. downlod this:
UPDATED
https://timesheetusw.ddns.net/owncloud/index.php/s/6bR1MZ1qSbUexjA
and unzipp it. Follow the instruktions in txt file. save the file and use the bat to exe converter to compile a exe file of it.
8. open default box steam on terminal 2 and add the "steam neustart.exe" to your steam.
_______forget point 9
(9. close steam and go to C:\\sandbox\yourusernamefromterminal2\defaultbox\drive\c\program files (x86)\steam\config and edit the config.vdf with notepad++ or editor. search for clientid and change one number. (i have made it before it works. i think you dont need it))
now you can open steam on terminal 1 and 2 with different accounts and streaming.
on terminal 2 is a limitation. i don`t know why. if you start stream a game with big picture all is perfect. but if you close ist and start is again no controller input is detectet.
solution:
stream the Server neustart from the client and your steam restarts on server. now you can stream with you input...
please give me feedback and questions. i hope it works for you
-disable your firewall if in home streaming find you but not connect
-not every game run with the aster ip restiction of one terminal. go to aster extendet settings and press the all but selected butten. now you can select the game directory and all works
German translation is coming soon
sorry for the necro
yes. but i use a display dongle.
Hallo gabbapieht,
Sven
Könntest du diesen Download bitte nochmal hochladen, der Link ist down.
