mouse and keyboard not working

I can launch a game fine but my mouse and keyboard presses do nothing. The mouse cursor appears on the screen and you can see it moving but that's it. The game doesn't respond to any keyboard presses or mouse clicks,

You could also try closing any other remote desktop or streaming apps running in the background (Chrome remote desktop, Remotr, etc.). I had the same problem where I couldn't type or click anything, but I could move my mouse. I closed Remotr which was running, minimized in the system tray, and started Steam again as Admin, and it worked.

Была такая же проблема, когда при попытке запуска игр через домашнюю трансляцию Steam (Remote Play) показывался курсор мыши, который никак не реагировал при нажатии и клавиатура ничего не делала. Клавиатура и мышь работали только на главном компьютер-сервере.

Проблема решилась путем Запуска Steam с правами администратора на обоих устройствах, а так же и игр, которые запускаете, настройте запуск от имени администратора.

Just wanted to confirm a working solution mentioned in the previous pages (for those skipping to the now-last page). Some games especially non-steam games you added into Steam to stream, run as Administrator mode.

You need to close Steam and re-start it as Administrator mode. That should fix the issue.

I found the problem in mine... Finally... Is the antivirus sandbox. I told the antivirus to ignore this game and it works fine now. Hope it can help you guys.

turn off Windows 10 UAC on the "server" helped me

Running Steam exe as Administrator on Client computer didn't fix it but running it as Admin on the Host did.

My mouse works, but my keyboard doesnt. Its so annoying. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but it doesn't do anything.

I simply can't believe that this is still an issue in the end of 2023. Valve should get their ♥♥♥♥ together and fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ remote play issues. My problem is on Android Steam link app. Every time I start streaming I see the desktop I see the cursor but it doesn't do jack squat. I can click to my hearts content but it wouldn't do anything. Same with the controller. If I start it in big picture instead of desktop it still doesn't work with controller either. I'm furious. It's the end of 2023 and this issue still persists how is this not fixed yet? How?
