i tried portal 2,slow encode and sometimes decode showed up while playing(mostly encode).i will however say that the game never became unplayable.one thing thought i tested the streaming by connecting the host and client directly using an internet (ethernet)cable
i did what you suggest above i also set client option to fast and limited bandwith to 3 on both client and host. i was able get playable framerates(46-48)though when i moved in game the quality of the picture on client decreased.game was portal 2

It happened when I put the bandwith on 'unlimited'. Great picture, but quite choppy :)
When putting the bandwidth on automatic, some artifacting appeared.
I'm guessing the host was already struggling with AC at max settings there was not enough headroom for encoding?
Does steam use the integrated features (HD3000 / quicksync) ? Or does it put extra load on the discrete GPU?
Batman Arkham Asylum & Kingdoms of Amalur were doing fine.

I really want to play team fortress 2 in my notebook :(
VALVE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX THIS
What this means is that your host pc (the one running the game), your client pc (the one your playing the game on), and your network( switches and access points) need to be *1 Gbps* connections. You can verify this by going to your Ethernet Status on your pcs. If you are wireless, then may there be mercy on your soul.
**Speedtest.net will NOT help you test for this!!!
I originally received this message when I was streaming to my laptop ( i5 processor ) through a 10/100mbps switch, had about 15 to 30 fps. After upgrade the switch to a 10/100/1000mbps switch I no longer receive the message and have a solid 60 fps.
