BUG: Non-steam games with multiple windows absolutely confuse the streaming server
So, today, seeing as though the awesome people at valve have added support for non-steam games' streaming, I tested out minecraft on the streaming server.

Mayhem. The streaming client was so confused. Background information: my minecraft which is attached to steam has an in game overlay. It opens at least two windows: the console and the GUI. As soon as the launcher started, the stream server started to switch from one window to another, especially when I get a message on steam.

Possible solution:
Maybe, maybe, maybe add support for multiple-window game streaming..?

Maybe see what happens if you simply added something like Notepad.exe to your non-Steam game list, so that when launched would basically stream the host's Windows desktop, where notepad or something similar could be minimized or closed. Once at the Windows desktop, what happens if you try launching your Minecraft from the "All Programs" menu or a shortcut icon on the desktop while running In-Home Streaming?

That would sorta defeat the purpose of "streaming" a program, since you'd have to go to the host pc and type in alt tab to switch to the windows desktop. It's a really bright idea thoug-

IDEA!

Non steam game -> Windows on screen keyboard -> as soon as it starts, make it do Alt + Tab -> ??? -> profit.

I'll try it out and see what happens!

Or maybe add "Explorer.exe" as your non-Steam game stream launcher. Then click on Desktop in the left pane and select a game/program from a shortcut icon. :P

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. As mentioned on the changelogs for the new non steam game streaming feature, the streaming only works if the in game UI pops up. Because the in-game UI works neither on the explorer.exe nor the keyboard program, the streaming does not work.

I think we're going a bit off track here. This bug was posted about the streamer's incapability of having multiple windows from one program. And to achieve that, we were just discussing some alternatives to get the desktop to show up so we can select the correct window.

I can start up minecraft fine. Minecraft works with the in game overlay, though not perfectly. Since it runs on 64 bit java on my pc and steam's in game overlay doesn't like 64 bit stuff, you can't enter stuff into it's text box.
