I am doing similar with VM's, but this is interesting since I can multiply the VM seats x2.
Looking at the trial.....
No, it is not :). You've red my post quite inattentively :) I have only one monitor connected to my PC just using two cables - each of them is connected to the different port of the monitor - first one to DVI, another one to Displayport. So all you need is your monitor and your graphic card both had second input/output port (or two graphic cards each with single output port). Furthermore, you don't need another mouse and keyboard, only yours ones, cause this program let you switch'em between user accounts by hotkeys.
So as a result:
On my PC with Windows 7 x64 Ultimate and Aster V7 installed, two user accounts are active at the same time. The first one is mine initial of administrator and the second one is new of normal user, running Steam client which is in autolaunch there. When system starts I see my desktop as usual (video from the first account goes to DVI port which is active by default), while video from the second account goes to Displayport and I don't see it, so when notebook initiates a streaming session it don't take me off my work in any way, while if I want I still can see what's going on there too just by pushing the button "source" on my monitor.:)
Agreed, this is something desired to be present by default whithout using third-party software.
Aster V7 or SoftXpand allows you to play any 2 games at the same time from 1 pc.
There is one limitation to all of this, you have to play most of games in windowed or windowed noborder mode if you want to play 2 games at the same time, unless you have 2 graphic cards in your pc. Also if you can't run 2 copies of the same game you have to use sandboxie to isolate games from system.
To run this method you need to physically activate 2nd video output on your graphic card. You can use:
1. 2nd monitor or
2. connect 1 monitor with two cables (vga and dvi) or
3. use dummy plug: http://www.ebay.com/sch/woopsserg/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
There is also cheaper alternative software SoftXpand Duo for $27.

I have one PC, and my wife's got a Macbook Pro.
And I will like to play some games with her, Co-op mainly or in some cases play two different games at the same time.
Most of the games we like to play aren't available on Mac so this will be my idea.
See up 2 accounts on my desktop PC with Aster.
Have Aster (1) initiate Steam and launch the game locally.
Have Aster (2) initiate Steam and stream to the Macbook, so she can play there.
I will test this tonight.
Thanks for the help.
let me know how this gets on.
Also really interested in how this worked out. I am in the exact same situation and would love for my girlfriend to be able to stream off my PC while I play.
I too am extremely interested in how it turned out. If it worked for him, then that would mean I can stream a graphic-intensive game to a family member in a different part of the house on their laptop, right?
