Streaming from computer which is running Netflix.
What I would like to see, ultimately, is the ability to play netflix or a DVD on my main HD-Theater computer, while streaming a game from that computer to my wife's laptop.

That way she can watch her shows, while I play my games in full HD.

My system has the power to do this. Does Homestream have the capability? If so, how do I set that up?

No, homestreaming does not have that capability. You could try running Steam in a virtual machine and streaming from that, but the performance won't be anywhere near the same. If you have two soundcards and two displays on the host you could also instead place a virtual machine on the secondary display, make it use the other soundcard and play the DVDs and Netflix there while the main display and primary soundcard are used by Steam and games.
