Avast and Streaming
I tried streaming "Hoard" between my work computer and girlfriends laptop.
It worked really well after I figured out the problem...

My homenetwork is a funny story, that is why I first thought that this was the cause of the problem. My "wired" network runs through the electric system with wallplugs that is connected to a Wifi router that manages and shares the internet connection to all the devices in my home.
So it was the obvious first candidate... work station -> wallplug -> router -> wifi -> laptop x)

Well, that was not the problem (but it works and I know that it causes latency but that was beside the point for this test).
The main problem was Avast Antivir on the client computer. It is the same version, with the same settings etc as on my work computer. Turning off Avast on the client solved all of my problems so it got some issue with Steam Streaming... dunno why yet but was hoping that someone else in this forum has a good idea. It works just fine with other streaming services so I was thinking that it might be that Steam is using a strange port or that the network packages are strange in some way...

Any leads or ideas behind the problem is welcome :)

If I had to guess, I'd say that it was probably some sort of network packet filter that Avast includes. Those tend to heavily scrutinize incoming and/or outgoing traffic.

While they can increase your network security, they can also introduce considerable latency, as each packet has to be vetted by the security software before it's allowed to reach its destination.

There should be a way of disabling that specific feature manually, if that is what's causing it.
