My gaming PC has a 900p monitor while my TV is 1080p. I am getting black bars on the TV.
So I put all of my money into building a decent gaming pc and then used two 900p monitors I had lying around. So I stream to the htpc in my living room but apperantly the stream is stuck in 900p. So on my 1080p tv there are black bars on either side. I tried to upscale it to 1080p but the game wont let me. I believe its because the game only senses my monitor thats physically connected to my rig. Is there a way to get rid of the black bars? :lonestar:

use a 16:9 monitor.

I am on the tv and monitor. I thought it had to do with actual resolution.

the resolution will upscale but you wont be able to stream 1080p unless your monitor is at 1080p. The black bars mean that you are not streaming at a 16:9 resolution. you can check the in-game settings and set them to fullscreen if you are indeed running a 16:9 monitor.

Other than that I can not help you. I run multiple different aspect ratios and resolutions, and I have no issues when I capture at the same resolution and aspect that I stream to.

Thanks for the tips. I had a derp moment and didn't think of checking that the settings were set to 16:9. I just assumed that if the hardware was 16:9 the software would automaticlly adjust. I will see if I can get it working.
