Remote play crashes my tv

Hello everyone,

I installed the steamlink app on my tv but it crashed when my tv started from the link between pc and tv. It then hangs on tips. After that I can't play app videos so I have to restart the tv. Like youtube crunch ect. After restart everything is normal again until I try it again.

I have no problems with other tv or hardware like ipad macbook and an older sony bravia it only happens with this one.

Now I use my ipad with a hdmi to the tv, but I don’t find this a long term solution haha.

It is about a Sony Bravia 8 65 inch tv.

It seems that there is a bug in the video codex of this type of tv.

Hopefully you guys know something more about this.

There's zillions of tv brands, not to mention specific models and differences even with same model in different markets

You should check on a specific forum
Just to say I had (time ago) a TV that became incompatible with Netflix... And was TV maker fault,...

All you can do eventually is go in steam and or steam link app and change codec config to force something different.

Not much more we can say considering that you don't even mention your TV brand ;)

what version of the link app does the tv have?
