Can I use this tablet to play Steam games ?
Hello,

I want to buy this tablet for my mom for Christmas. This is mainly to enable it to play its Steam games when she has to stay in bed

Is this tablet compatible with Steam? My mother just playing little games, hidden object games etc, it does not need a lot of power.

I read that there were several ways (I read 4 ways) to play Steam games on a tablet, but I think it's on steam forums I get the best recomandation :)

I think I can't link the detail page of this tablet (to not make pub), so I past the informations :

MEDION P8912

Processeur Intel® Atom™ Z3735F ( 1,83 GHz)
Screen LIFELIGHT® Full HD 22,6 cm/8,9"

I can link the page if you need and ask me ^^

Thank you in advance for your assistance :pleased:

Is Medion P8912 the name of the tablet? Currently, I know of only two ways to get your tablet to play Steam games. The first is by purchasing an Nvidia Shield tablet. This tablet either steams games from your PC via your local network, or via their cloud system. The second way to run Steam games on a tablet is to get a Windows tablet. If this Medion P8912 runs a full version of Windows 7, 8.1, or 10, then you should be able to install the Steam on the tablet like a normal PC.

Hope this helps! 😃

The tablet uses Android 4.4 from what I'm seeing online, so you'd need to hope Moonlight works well with it, cause there's no other way to stream games to be played on the tablet otherwise.

If you really want to game on a tablet with IHS, it HAS to be a device with full Windows 7/8.1/10 on it, or to get an Nvidia Shield. Moonlight is an app that "highjacks" the Nvidia Shield stream and allows you to play the games on several devices, but its inconsistent as to which devices work well or not, AND it needs the computer running the game to have a recent Nvidia card, much like plating on a Shield device.

So, no, I wouldn't bet on the Medion to work properly with Moonlight, and since it's an Android tablet, there's no In-Home Streaming for it

Thank you so much Ian and RYNO for your help !

I think I must look for a tablet with full win7, but I think I can't find one for the price of this Medion ... but totaly normal I think ^^

The streaming way is not good for my mother I think, she need the best easy way to play.

Thx a lot :thumb:
