MAC OS Remote Play Failing to Connect
Had a good time playing over the weekend streaming from my gaming pc to an older iMac that was in the bedroom. For some reason, starting last night I haven't been able to stream games. I'd click Stream, it'd flick to Stop, and then change to a green Connect. Any ideas? I've reinstalled Steam on both machines, toggled "Enable Remote Play".

Able to stream from my laptop, so I don't think the host is the issue?

Same problem, with an old Macbook Air. I wonder how old is too old? Mine is from mid 2013...

are you using steam client, or steam link app?

Steam client was working for me before, and now doesn't connect. Steam Link I tried last night, but was way laggier than the steam client

if its laggy, then it may be using steams internet relays instead of direct connection

disable any vpn
make sure windows network is set to private not public
if using wifi, check router settings, disable wifi isolation for the ssid you use
in steam setting, remote play allow direct = all/auto/my not disabled

Hello,

i've got the same issue.
I have three devices :
- PC on Win10
- SteamDeck on SteamOS
- Macbook on Macos

- All are on IPV4
- Tested with at least 3 different games
- Firewalls are disabled everywhere

PC and deck can stream to each other, without any issue. Everything is fine, in both ways. But none can stream with the Mac.

I click on connect, it show "Stop" in blue for 2 seconds, and then goes back to connect. The game is launch on the host (by hand, or automatically at the first try), but nothing else is possible.

in the streaming_log.txt, I got nothing since weeks.

Hello

Has anyone had any success? This stopped working sometime in September, and I haven't managed to get this to work again. Have game started on remote PC -> click Connect -> Changes to Stop for 2s -> back to Connect. Nothing in streaming_log.txt

Any updates for me its still not working…
This worked for me:

Delete Steam's Cache Files (Fix Corrupt Data)

Quit Steam.

Open Finder and press Cmd + Shift + G.

Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam

Delete config.vdf and the appcache folder.

Restart Steam on both systems and try again.
