In my case, my friend and I tried to play with remote play together but my friend couldn't hear any in game audio. We suspect that the issue was because we are in the same Steam Family Group. Maybe not, who knows.

I'm not in the same family as my friend, and have the same issues, so I think that isn't the case.

For my money, I think the recent Broadcasting, Recording and Screenshots updates, which added and changed features with the way video and audio are handled, is probably the culprit.

I tried to activate it as Host, but still no audio... Does also the client activate this mode? or other setting to set?

both have to aktivate it.
you can change it back at any time

same.. both activated the beta and still not sound in game like vampire survivor or cuphead .... so sad...

Was there another fix or update after this? My friend had turned on beta in November and we got the sound working again for her remote play games. But sometime in December, that stopped working.

I never had this issue before, but in December my friend stopped hearing any sound from remote play. I tried every possible fix, including beta, but nothing changes... Is there anyone with some new idea? Steam support didn't help much and just pointed me to forum discussions...
