Hardware Streaming Comparison: Nvidia GTX 760 vs GTX 970
I am currently running Steamlink via a wired connection from my PC Core i7-920 with a GTX 760 & hardware encoding setting. My display latency seems a bit high, ranging from about 25ms and getting as high as 60ms is some games.

If I was to upgrade to a GTX 970 and utilize hardware encoding, should I expect to see a drop in display latency? Can folks here report their typical display latency and hardware setup? According to the research I have done, I should expect 20ms or less for display latency for a decent experience. I think the display latency goal is ~10ms or less for optimal performance.

I feel like hardware encoding should eliminate the need for a CPU upgrade for me (although I am a little bit past due on a system upgrade). I'd like to limit any further hardware spending if possible.

25ms is quite good; less than 2 frames at 60FPS. Your TV will add an extra 30ms-100ms; a monitor an extra 10ms-30ms.
