Steam Remote Play Steam Link: Using Controller with Epic Games (SOLVED)

I have been digging for three days now. I am using Steam Link Software on a Laptop to play Epic Games GTA 5 on my Home PC. I have a random Controller connected to the Laptop and it works fine with Steam Games but never work for Games launched through Epics Launcher.

Finally found a Solution! Add the Epic Games Launcher itself as a non Steam Game to your library and start "playing" the Epic Games Launcher through Steam Link. From there the Controller gets passed through to any Game you launch from Epic.


EDIT: You might need to use another Remote method like Chrome Remote Desktop to launch the Game from the epic games launcher because the epic gammes launcher appears blank in steam link. from there however everything works fine

I tried exactly the same... added EPIC-game launcher to Steam and started from there. Still I do not have controller-support in all of the Epic-games.
What controller settings do you use for starting the Epic-games-launcher?
When I start the Epic-launcher from Steam I can see the screen and dont get a blank as you have described.

make sure steam input is enabled for the launcher
steam -> library -> epic launcher -> gear -> properties -> controller
and mapped as default xbox controller for the launcher
and steam -> library -> epic launch er -> controller config

to navigate the launcher with the controller
you will need to config steams chord config
steam -> settings -> controller -> chord config
then hold the xbox/home/ps button to temp activate the chord controller config

I have set everything accordingly but still have the same issue.
- properties of epic-game-launcher: "Enable Steam Input", "Xbox Controller" is marked, "Use Desktop Config in Launcher" is disabled
- epic-game-launcher controller settings: "Gamepad" is used as default layout
- Steam Controller global settings: "XBox controller support" is enabled (other controllers, e.g. Playstation or generic, are disabled)
- Chord settings are set to the official Guide Button Chord config .... why do I need this? I can still use the right controller stick to move the mouse-pointer after starting epic-launcher, which is strange because the desktop config mode is disabled
- Destop Controller Layout is disabled

There is something else that only happens when launching Epic-launcher or Epic-games from the Steam-library.... a few seconds after starting the game/launcher, Steam looses the focus and jumps back to the Steam-window (in BPM). I always need to swicth to the game-window by Alt+Tab (or Home + Start on the controller). The screen problem does not occur when I run Steal-Link in Desktop mode and not in BPM.

This works for most games on epic but wont work with any of the bioshock games. If anyone has a solution please let me know

make sure steam is running as admin
and steam input is enabled for the other client launchers
