Client Receiving no audio output from Host with virtual audio cable output
Hi,

I'm using a Virtual Audio Cables to allow recording of audio in multiple channels. The software I use is Virtual Audio Cable[vb-audio.com].

I have the virtual cables set up so that games, system sounds and such output to virtual audio cable A, while discord outputs to virtual audio cable B, both of these I'm listing into with my headphones, I use a microphone on the headset to chat through discord.

In the above example Cable A and B are not called that but its irrelevant for the example. also note that Virtual Audio Cable A is set as the default output device and my headset microphone is set as the default input

Things I have tried to fix client not receiving audio include

Turning on "play audio on host".

Setting Steam Streaming Speakers to listen into Virtual Audio Cable A, Then listing into that with my headphones.

Setting Steam Streaming Microphone to listen into Virtual Audio Cable A, Then listing into that with my headphones

Adjusting Virtual Audio Cable A to 16bit 48khz (DVD Quality) [Done on both client and host to no effect] (please not client does not have any special setup like myself)

Update: Tried them streaming CupHead to me and had sound, also tried streaming cat quest 2 to them (the former is from 2017 the latter from 2019) the previous game we tried was a Lego game (sound was not working with the Lego game) cant remember specific one while typing this but was one of the marvel ones. In both cases sound was working this puts a little credit into my thinking its not something to do with my setup and more that it relates to either steam or game specific. Unfortunately no further testing is possible tonight

Short of steam adding a way to chose where I input sound from and output sound to I cant think of any fix other than using 3rd party software.

I welcome any Constructive input and am happy to explain further if there's any miss understanding about my setup.

Edit 1: Adjusted post to clarify about client setup.

Edit 2: Added Update.

No sorry I didn't ever find a solution to this. Probably wont either as don't talk with the person that this was an issue with.

If anyone else does though let me know.
