ROG Ally Remote Play Crash

The ROG Ally handles remote play very strangely.

After the game launches, you must alt-tab over to the game window in order for it to start working, and sometimes it doesn't work right away so you have to alt-tab away and then back.

The weird part is that the streamingclient.exe ALWAYS crashes when you stop using remote play. You cannot exit the program normally. You have to open task manager and force it to stop, otherwise it just hangs forever.

I have already tried reinstalling steam and updating everything on the Ally with no change in behavior at all. These things don't affect my other devices when using remote play, just the rog. Which is weird because it's supposed to behave like any other mobile windows device, but it has this weird quirk with remote play.

what client are you using?

are you starting in bpm?
that has an issue with not giving focus to the game after launching it

depending on client, it may not stop streaming after exiting the game, and return to desktop/bpm stream mode

android and link hardware can stream desktop mode, and do anything on the host
windows link app and steam desktop client, will list games, and only allow streaming of the game window

I have been having this exact same issue since day 1 on ROG Ally. I noticed a few Steam updates throughout but nothing fixed. I also did a complete reinstall of my Ally from scratch with no change. Exact same symptoms persist.
