Controller not working properly on Remote Play
The problem comes from the guest controller, when he tries to move his character in any game for example to the right and release the controller key then the character continues to move infinitely without any reason.

Until today it was not giving us any problems, yesterday we were able to play correctly.

Is there any1 having this issue only in Remote play?

Thanks for the clarification! Seems like a global issue then, let's patiently wait!

Yeah I got the same issue, the controller seems to hold buttons.
It is especially annoying since it happens on the steam deck with an external controller...
YES! I have same problem

Yep same problem here. My Dpad is going nuts like it's on automode steroids.. Can't use my windows client atm. My android just works fine.

I use the Steamlink App on Samsung TV with a PS4 controller over bluetooth. Everything worked fine yesterday, Now it either won't even recognize the controller, or if it does, it acts like a button is held down the entire time along with reversing a bunch of buttons on the layout. Did they do something cause this doesn't make sense.

Same issue here. Button acts like it is held down. It seems like pressing another button ends the action, but I haven't confirmed it. This happens with just about every button on the guest controller; the triggers, A/B/X/Y, etc.

Messing with the controller settings sort of helped. Like increasing the dead zone for the triggers. It's not a complete fix since just about every button seems to be affected.

Only Steam can fix this problem.
It seems that the remote play controller driver in the last update (01.08.2023) is broken.
They need to update/fix the internal driver of the remote play client.

EDIT: Same problem has been a few years ago in the beta client. Only way was switching back to stable client. BUT, this time the problem is in BOTH client versions present...

What are the odds Steam fixes it? In the meantime, anyone know of a way to roll back to the previous client version?

I have opened a support ticket on Steam today. Lets see what they tell us...

I too have this problem. I submitted a brief ticket and got a response that they could not predict the behavior of every possible hardware configuration with steam. I then further commented today to them that i have tried this with two different controllers both running a game on both the host and client pc and no issues but when streaming the game from the host i get coasting. I am getting a wireless controller today and see if i can just control the game locally across my apartment on my laptop.

Yes this will work if the range is ok. It's my temp. solution atm.
