Retina Resolution (2880x1800) with Streaming ? How ?
Hello !

I have a pretty good hardware on my host PC (Windows 8.1 with R9 290X and i7 3770k) and i Wanted to know if u were planning to make the client computer (in this case my MacbookPro 2880x1800) playable in his own resolution ?

My PC host has a 1920x1080 monitor and i can't go further than this. Can my Macbook monitor be recocgnized by the game ? I managed it by using a software to "emulate" 1920x1200 (it's horrible on the host but works great on the mac) but i dunno why i can't emulate any further than this

I'd like to see my Macbook resolution in the game when i try to change it like if would do if the game was natively running on the Mac. Do you plan it ? :)

Thanks

Unfortunately it doesn't with with my AMD GPU. It used to work when i had my GTX 560TI via Nvidia control panel but I can't create a higher resolution than my native monitor with AMD CCC :/
well i don't have amd but i think is possible! try harder :)

Do you stream 1080p via WiFi? I don't even dream to get Retina streaming without LAN, as MBPro has no built in ethernet port.

I'm using ethernet for streaming. It doesn't work very good over wifi.

You use Thunderbolt -> LAN adapter?

Hmmm, I'm not sure if it's possible with AMD.

However, with NVidia you can do exactly what you're talking about and it works. (I have an NVidia GTX 690 and a 13" Retina MacBook Pro and I've streamed games at 2560x1600 even though the monitor on my PC is 1920x1080.

I haven't tried it since NVidia GPU encoding was implemented, but prior to that QuickSync wasn't able to encode it fast enough. It did stream, but it was only 5 - 10 fps.
