Lost Steam Streaming Speakers device

Hi

I no longer have the Steam Streaming Speakers device. I reinstalled Steam over the top of my current install and that has not solved it.

Device installation fails if I just run the oem97.inf file from device manager. (With the usual generic error).

Valve don't offer direct support on this as tried that

Any thoughts?

but steam can also capture through windows mixer, make sure steam client/bootstrapper volume is maxed

Thanks bizarrely it is working again now without the steam speakers installed so that was not my issue.

There's more than one way to mute the sound at the steam link end. Mine was muted in the overlay which I don't normally use and enabled in the steam link menu.

its odd that the links overlay has a volume setting, since its going to be connected to something with its own volume control anyway, if it used the cec to control the other device it would be better imho
