Grand Theft Auto V not detecting controller?

I’ve been trying to remote play lately and every game I’ve tried seems to work fine with the exception of GTA 5. Upon loading the game, it simply doesn’t detect the controller and instead “emulates” what the equivalent mouse/keyboard input would look like. As a result I can’t do anything in the game. I bought it through Rockstar Launcher and have both the launcher and the game set as a Steam shortcut, however launching through neither works. Red Dead (also bought on Rockstar) however works just fine. Anyone have a similar experience? Anything I can do? Thanks!

check steams mapping of the controller

steam -> library -> select game -> gear -> properties -> controller tab -> enable steam input mapping

steam -> library -> select game -> controller config
browse configs, find default x360 and apply

Unfortunately didn't work :/. Regardless of whatever settings I have checked/unchecked in the controller settings it doesn't seem to work.

when you connect to the host, is the remote controller listed in steam -> settings -> controller -> [general]

Yep. Steam detects and so does other games, seems to be isolated to something GTA 5 Specific

as in in-game? No

you can try asking in the games forums, (steam and rockstar)
see if there is a way to make remote play controllers work

or you can try with nvidia moonlight

Haven't even thought about trying Nvidia moonlight. Thanks alot for the help, much appreciated
