Steam Link not on Google TV OS

I just got a Sony Bravia XR55X94JU which uses Google TV OS (my understanding is this is just Android TV with a new skin), and I did research online that said the app was available for Android TV, but I can't seem to find it on Google TV. Maybe I'm dumb and missing something so if I am please tell me. The other possibility is this isn't available yet for whatever reason. I tried looking online for answers but anytime I search Google TV OS it thinks I mean the Google TV device and not the Smart TV OS so I hit a dead end.

look up tech manual or guide on how to change the tv region to usa

or instructions on how to sideload the steamlink.apk

I've the same problem. Sony BRAVIA XR A80J with "Google TV" and there is no "Steam Link" app in the "Google Play" app store. Note: I'm in Australia.

This is very annoying, what's going on Value?

Update: for NVIDIA users, an alternative solution is the "Moonlight Streaming" app.

The video above is for an older OS, the new Sony's are running "Google TV". I've not been able to install Steam Link by changing the region. Do you know for certain Steam Link is blocked in Australia or are you just hypothesising?

I'll give the Moonlight app a go and see if that works for me. If not I'll try to sideload the apk and report back.

I am having the exact same issue. Brand new Sony Bravia X90J. Furthermore, It also no longer appears as an option in play store on my Chromecast with Google TV, even though I had it installed and running on that devices a month ago. This is super frustrating. It's like they disabled compatibility with Android TV! WTF!?

I am also having this issue. My older Sony Bravia with android TV had the Steam Link app. But with my new x94j I can not find it in the Google Play Store.

But Chromecast with google tv, cant download steam link
Not compatible, why?

FYI - the Steam Link app has now appeared in the Google Play store on my Sony Bravia A80J. Root cause unknown.
