Is it possible to get your steam account hacked using this
Is it possible that people inviting you can take control of your computer or possibly hack into your pc, or even maybe trigger a ban on a game you don't even know, kind of like family sharing works.

no, if you are the client, you control the games inputs on the host

as a clinet, your pc is not running the game, just watching and listening to the stream and sending controls to the host

It depends.. There are quite a few safe guards in place. More so than most Remote Desktop Applications, as many of them can access anything on your PC that you can.

1. YOU choose who joins in your Remote Play Together session. And YOU can kick at any time.
2. By default, they only have controller support. YOU must grant them Keyboard and mouse control.
3. YOU see everything your Remote Play Together partner(s) see. They usually can only see your game only.

Also, Normal Remote Play can only be done between two devices logged in to the same account, and the Host PC (that plays the game) may to enable options let the mouse/keyboard control leave the game window.

To put simply, Yes, you can get banned or have someone "hack" your PC using Stream Remote Play Together or Steam Remote play. BUT YOU must have let them in the first place, or fail at account security that your steam account was compromised in the first place.

When i clicked the link and joined the remote stream I was on my account playing on his game, so it was like player 1 and player 1 (1), i didn't give him any perms to access my keyboard just clicked the link and joined the lobby. Playing on my account, but it was his game.

The game then opened in a tab on my pc and i played. could he have gotten control of my pc?

My whole computer was taken over by a hacker because of this. It is actually unsafe if you do not change some settings.
