The streaming client exited unexpectedly - Bad Code in Steam Update - FIX NOW!
I have multiple computers so I was able to test for the problem. My main computer updated Steam and would not stream properly. I was able to stream from my laptop to my second computer UNTIL the second compute updated Steam.

The issue is not on my end, it is bad code in the update. Please fix this.

Please just revert the changes. People reported this bug a month ago and it was still pushed into the latest version...

It is totally unacceptable for a month old bug to not be addressed in Beta and then be pushed out to live.

Yeah, I get the "The streaming client exited unexpectedly (2)" error as well with the new update when using remote play on laptop.
Just purchased two games and this update has ruined everything :winter2019angrybulb:

Please report it in the bug thread. I have been already warned about making multiple threads on the issue so I am not sure if making a post in the bug thread counts as spamming or not.

It is very disappointing to discover that this was a known bug but was still pushed to Live without being fixed.
"its okay guys no one uses this feature anyway right?"

Disabled HW Decoding, can use for now, would prefer to leverage native decoding and save power / heat in my LT. Steam please fix, been over a month now in Beta and you push this crap to Prod.

Disabled HW Decoding has worked for me to prevent the unexpected crash out, but doesn't solve the issue entirely.. display latency instead spikes over 2000ms often making it unplayable.

Disabling hw decoding works okay for the most part but comes with weird artifacts so not a great solution. Someone posted an older version of the streaming_client executable in another thread, but would really rather just have an official update to revert changes to that one file for the time being instead of having to download it off a random person's dropbox.

Same issue here, just stopped working today. Disabling HWDecoding had no effect. :(

Same issue, I've been tinkering for hours until I found this thread, I thought it was a problem on my end. Please fix this, I can't play anything like this.

How do I submit a bug report?

same issue here, cannot stream to my other pc anymore. Disabling/enabling settings does not change anything

I've had this issue for the past several days as well, I thought it was on my end at first. I managed to get it working by opting in to the beta update, it appears the bug is resolved in the beta and remote play works fine. I just tested it with several games.
