No sound in remote play
So I just got a new system, and when opening steam i was surprised to find all the old games there - I honestly never looked much into the remote play feature. Really cool, now I can continue on those games I never finished.

Unfortunately, there is no sound. I've tried all available sound devices on my (host) pc, as well as set "play audio on host" in remote play settings.

Anyone know how to fix this?

The pc hosting is a w8.1 home 64bit and the client pc is a w10 pro 64bit

thanks

I fixed this by changing the sound output device on the host pc to "steam streaming speakers"

I've had a similar issue, took me a while to figure it out. The main issue was the sound was muted in the stream. To check this press and hold the ESC button, and check that the sound isn't muted there. Second, check your Steam settings on both host and client computers: Steam/Settings/RemotePay/Advanced Host or Client settings. Third, check that you're audio settings are correct, in other words, you have the right speakers selected, and you haven't muted steam on the client machine audio settings (in the client Sound Mixer). Finally double-check the client is selecting the correct output on stream startup. You can do this by checking the logs in c:/Program Files(x86)/steam/logs/streamlog.txt (or something like that).

Hope this helps.
