Steam crashes and restarts itself on host PC
Remote play has been such a tease.. it works great, until it doesn't. What always happens is that the session will start off fine. Stream performance isn't perfect but it's definitely playable. I'll get into a mission, maybe 20-30 minutes of playtime.. and then inevitably, the stream will freeze. I remoted into my host machine and found out that it's not the game crashing, rather Steam crashes, and then restarts itself, but because the Steam process ends the stream ends. And after that happens I am unable to restart the stream from the client side. For some games that require Steam for multiplayer the game will freeze as well, only fixable by ending the process from the task manager. It's super super frustrating when I play a mission to like 90% completion and then it stops working and my progress disappears.

I've googled around and searched this group discussion but I haven't seen anyone having quite the same problem, which makes it more infuriating. For the same reason I was inclined to share my experiences in case anyone else out there had the same problem.

For reference I've tried changing just about every option that exists in the remote play settings.. limits on bandwith, limits on resolution, turning hardware encoding on and off on both machines.. I'm at a loss here

Both host and client are running Win10 64bit

I have the same problem for a long time now but also can't find anything to fix this issue.
I already updated my graphic card drivers, windows updates etc but so far no chance.

I have been having the same problem. I will play for a while, get disconnected, and when I talk to my wife at home the next day, she finds the computer at the steam login screen.
