Is there a way to disable the Remote Play Together notification?

It pops up in every game I play, I never use it, and it's really annoying, but I can't find a way to turn it off. Short of disabling the Steam overlay which I don't really consider a fix as I take screenshots often.

No one answered this? I'm interested also. No need to see the Remote Play Together popup all the time. But then again, it seems to have replaced the Press Shift-Tab to access Steam Community popup that is equally annoying. I would do some research on how to disable that one, as that is probably the answer.

(Watch. I bet someone will chime in with "Just disable the Steam Overlay in settings". Idiot trolls are lurking everywhere, LOL.)

Oh here's a solution IF you don't need the function at all, just turn off Steam Remote Play ALTOGETHER (not just the notifs, I mean the feature) in the settings, on the remote play tab, above the list of computers. This makes it so that you can't use the feature at all, so no annoying notif!

I've unchecked the Remote Play checkbox and still get that f-ing "Remote Play Together" popup every time I open anything with a multiplayer function.

I'm not sure if I'm too late for this, but I think I've found a workaround.

Go to this subfolder in your Steam folder : Steam/Friends

Find this file remoteplaytogetheravailablenotification.res and rename it.

Thanks, this was driving me potty. Why does the client not have an option to disable these annoying messages yet.

Sorry for the necro, but how do you remove this permanently? I've turned remote play off. I don't even sign into Friends. I've deleted the file. I've renamed it. I've edited all the values inside it to 0. I've set it as read only.

Doesn't matter. It always comes back. The damn popup refuses to die and it's forking annoying. Especially when trying to use Pixel Game Maker as it pops up on every single window. Every. Single. One. Every. Single. Time.

be sure to include the extension, windows defaults to hiding them
if the file is there, you cannot make a folder with the exact same name
