Different Controller's Priority

Is there a way to have different controllers recognized as the same, making them all with priority #1?

I have a turn based game when played with local multiplayer, it is called Man of Medan. When I use Remote Play Together, my controller is set to slot 1, and my friend is set to slot 2. The problem is that the game only accept commands from controller #1.

The alternative I have is to use keyboard+mouse, since it has the same priority as the controller #1 for all players. And there's another option: pause the game when it asks to change player and switch manually the controller priority.
