No audio being heard on Client
Hello!
I have come to my wits end trying to get Remote Play Audio to work between my gaming PC and my HTPC (both are Win 10). Video and controls work great, but no Audio is being heard on the client (HTPC). I have read several Steam Community threads, implemented all of their advice, and still, no sound.

The games (Ace Combat 7, Detroit Being Human) work perfectly fine on my gaming pc (Host). On the htpc (client), locally installed steam games work fine. Its only the remote play. Troubleshooting and specs are below.

I have tried the following troubleshoots:
-Steam is not muted in Sound Mixer on both client and host
-Host 'Play Audio on Host' both ticked and not-ticked
-Host had Speakers (RealTek), and Speakers (Steam Streaming), selected as Default and Default Communications. One or the other, not both at the same time
-Host Advanced Sound Settings, for both RealTek and Steam Streaming speakers, are 16bit 48K
-Neither Host nor Client Steam are in Beta. Both are Opted Out
-Strange enough, logs only have a single text file starting with Streaming, and no errors are in it. Some threads say that 4 Streaming Log files should be present, but I only see two on Host (Streaming_log.previous and Streaming_Log). Nothing to do with SteamAudio Trace.
-Mic is enabled for Desktop Apps, and I see Steam Client/Bootstrapper specifically listed

Specs:
Gaming PC (Host)
-I7-6700K OC (4.6 all core)
-AMD Sapphire 5700xt (Drivers 20.4.2 and tried 20.2.2 too)
-Gigabyte GA-Z170 HD3P (latest bios)
-Gigabyte RealTek integrated audio hooked up via Aux (orange green black) to Logitech external Speakers.
-16GB Ram
-Win 10

HTPC (Client)
-AMD Ryzen 2200G
-AMD Sapphire 480X (20.2.2 driver)
-AMD Sapphire 480X discrete audio, hooked up via HDMI to Yamaha receiver.
-MSI A320M Gaming Pro (latest bios)
-8gb Ram
-Win 10

Please help, this is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating.

I'm dealing with this also, my setup is a Win10 host PC and a steamlink for the remote play. It works for me in the steam link main menu but once I connect to the host PC all audio is lost. I followed the troubleshooting steps noted above and also those I found specific to the issue where sound is working in the main menu but not during remote play. If I come up with anything Internet stranger I'll post back.

Whats the purpose of Valve coming out with a feature and then not supporting it? This is completely half baked

I had this issue. Turns out my Realtek device was set to 24-bit sound. It started working when I switched it to 16-bit
