Remote Play Lag?
Hey all! My friend and I use remote play to stream Wizards of Legend to each others computers a lot, and it was working up until today.
Now, it's unplayable as it freezes and just about shows the network error symbol and has really glitchy audio, despite the fact that

A) We both have 68.5Mbps download speed and 15.91Mbps upload speed.
B) It was working earlier in the day

another strange thing to note is that I can still control the character just fine on the host's computer, yet it's frozen on mine.

For a second when the stream starts the video and audio is normal, until I try to input anything. Anybody know what's going on?

If you enable the advanced remote play streaming overlay (in your main Steam client, Steam > Settings > Remote Play > Advanced Client Options > Performance Overlay, select Details), you will be able to see a graph that shows the encode / network / decode delays, as well as additional information such as packet loss. There's a guide for interpreting these results here. Enabling the advanced overlay also lets you hit F8 to save 10 seconds of streaming debug data to the host computer.

I am having similar issues as you are, however they've been going on for a few weeks now (previously it was fine). My running theory is a congested or misconfigured network hop in Boston on my ISP's backbone, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot further (I have a separate topic discussing my problems). My symptoms are a high packet loss displayed in the Remote Play client, and a high packet jitter for the aforementioned Boston network hop as determined by a network tool called mtr.

Thanks for your response! I actually read your forum post before I posted mine and tried your debugging with no success. I was thinking that it might be steam's networks being congested at the moment with Coronavirus and all.

It's WACK. I have Google Stadia and Destiny 2 works flawlessly. It blew my mind. Then I tried steamplay via my AppleTV 4k again, and it is laggy, fugly, and unplayable. How TF? I mean just HOW does that make sense? My home network is ♥♥♥♥, but I can play an FPS over the internet flawlessly?
Hmmm... maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about, but surprising anyway.
