It is my understanding that this is possible. So I switched my phone to 2.4ghz and it worked. However you will get degraded performance in the forum lower quality picture and more latency.

My pc can only do wireless N and not 5ghz and my android tablet is the same with only wireless N and no 5ghz.

I cannot see my pc using my tablet via steam link android app.

Do you know if I have already connected my tablet to another device using steam link if it cannot work on another pc using steam link because I did connect to another windows tablet running steam with wifi ac aka 5ghz and it keeps showing it as offline because I no longer use that tablet to steam link to my android tablet but am trying with my new desktop pc with no wifi ac only wifi n.

Not sure if I can connect now with the previous steam linked device constantly showing and it not being able to detect the new pc in the app.

I don't need the high performance or latency.. it will be used mainly to control other stuff in my desktop and do stuff like remote shutdown or play a youtube video or music etc.

Basically trying to use steam link as an alternative to teamviewer and other remote control software from a Huawei Mediapad M3 android tablet with only wifi N to a Windows 10 Desktop PC with steam installed with only wifi N.

Any ideas how I can remote into my pc using my android tablet now with steam.

If the Steam Link app cannot see your device there may be something blocking it. A firewall or some other software perhaps. On the note of remote desktop you can use tools like Parsec which handles both gaming and it is a great remote desktop solution. Instead of trying to deal with Big Picture.
