How are the other computers connected to the network, wired or wireless? What do speed tests show across the other computers?
Other than that, maybe try adjusting the settings on the client PC's
So, I guess I know now that Remote Play SHOULD be working. Which means I've got a problem somewhere. Hmm....
I tested with a third PC and had the same issues. Constant "bad connection" warnings, frequently frozen screen, and massive downscaling of video.
My first guess was that Remote Play requires a super computer to run smoothly, but that can't be right because Steam Link works fine and everyone else seems to have no trouble with it. My quad-core i5 with 1060 6GB should be enough to encode the video stream....
Yea, I'm at a loss here. Adjusting the steam streaming quality settings has no effect. High or low, the connection is still terrible.
I just tried Remote Play with Lethal Leauge, a really low-end 2D game. EXACT same connection issues, screen freezing, and input lag. So, it's definitely not the game itself that's causing these issues. (previously, I'd been testing with Dead or Alive 6)
50% frame loss, even when streaming at 620x480. But only 1% packet loss.
I guess I'm not enough of a tech guy to understand why the frame loss is so high when the packet loss is so low. Any thoughts?
For the life of me, I can't figure out why the $5 Steam Link in my living room receives streams flawlessly, while my $700 secondary PC is struggling. They're both on the same network, with identical cables connecting them to the router.
