Can't get video on remote play together

I am trying to use remote play together to stream to my friend. After I send her the invite and she joins, she can hear the audio of the game, but she can't see the screen or use any controls. The only thing she sees is the steam wallpaper that says "live broadcast".

There are no errors and no popups. I installed the audio drivers and controller drivers and left all the settings as default.

That same friend is able to host the game and stream it to me just fine. I can also stream it from my computer to my android phone without issue. And I can stream it to my friends computer if she logs into my account and uses the regular remote play, instead of remote play together. But I can't stream it to her if she is on her own account.

I am using a 2017 13" Macbook Pro on OSX 10.14.6. My friend is on a 2017 15" Macbook Pro on OSX 10.14.6.

Any ideas?

I have the exact same issue with the Jackbox games. Other players can hear sound, but no video. Stuck on 'Please Stand By' screen. Also on Mac.

Weirdly enough, Jackbox will be playing in fullscreen on a desktop, and when I switch desktops, there'll be a blank window also called Jackbox and they'll see the window! But when I switch back to the game, it's back to Please Stand By.

I'm having this same issue with a Mac trying to host a game. Spent $60 on games and going to return them all if we can't get this fixed.

I was able to play a remote game just now by inviting the friend to "watch" the game instead of "remote play." Each player still had to have an additional mobile device to play the game, same as when you play at home.

I figured out that it was because the game was in full screen mode. After switching it to windowed mode and restarting everything, it started streaming just fine.

if anyone here still stuck with this, idk if it helped but I just relogged in the retroarch and put in windowed mode

with retroarch, make sure its set to use dx11 not dx12
