Steam link big screen mode does not share desktop when minimized
Steam link won't share my computer screen when minimized. I get a mouse moving around, and my games will still launch. Everything else has seemed to work so far. There just is no image, so I can't share my screen. Only the position of my mouse on the screen.

I've looked through existing threads and can only find stuff addressing fully black screens with no mouse or only with a mouse in the corner. Sorry ahead of time if this is a repeat thread and I have missed another on the same issue before.

The game you want to stream must be the active window on the host PC. Minimizing will cause... guess what: blank screen.^^
This is a technical issue. If you want to have a remote desktop, try streaming notepad.exe or use another software solution. Steam Link was not built for that. ;)

I wonder if the poster means that games are now starting minimised and not streaming properly, which is exactly what I'm now seeing with the new April 2018 1803 Windows 10 update on many titles? :(

I cannot stream notepad.exe or anything else that is not fullscreened. It will appear as a blank screen on my TV with only a mouse moving around on it.

Mmm no that's not what I was asking, but that seems to be the case now that I've tried to look for it. I tried opening notepad.exe and an emulated game that is only partial screen, and both resulted in same issue as I mentioned above... black screen with only a mouse moving.

I was hoping I could broadcast my computer screen on the TV, which I'm sure I've seen other people talking about doing... but kreiselhoschi says that's not a function of Steam Link so now I'm second guessing that bit.
