Teamviewer breaks in-home streaming
I use Teamviewer to remote into my gaming system. I want to stream Borderlands 2 to my Mac from that PC (because cross-platform play is currently broken by the dev). Borderlands 2 has a launch screen before the game can be accessed, to choose settings etc.

Steam in-home streaming does not show this menu, so I have to remote into the PC in order to start the game. I do so from a 3rd machine. The game starts properly, and Steam streaming is fine, but if I close the Teamviewer connection (between the 3rd machine and the PC) then the Steam streaming just shows a black screen. The only way around seems to be disabling Teamviewer altogether, and connecting a monitor to the PC to launch the game.

Anyone know what part of Teamviewer is interfering with Steam in-home streaming? Seems to be something about display drivers...

I think I figured this out. TeamViewer defaults to locking the remote computer when a connection is broken. So, each time I stopped TeamViewer, the remote PC would return to the login screen, which can't be streamed. Disabling this in Advanced options on Teamviewer, as well as in Actions on the streaming machine, fixed the problem. I also, for good measure, added "-nolauncher" to the game's launch options on the host PC.

Yep the -nolauncher option is the ideal way to do this. Once you've got the game set up, you don't need the launcher anymore, it's redundant, and you can even change all the settings (or at least most of them) within the game itself without needing the launcher in the first place.
