AMD Radeon HD 7900 series hardware encoding problem
I've been getting latency of about 25-30ms while streaming, which makes the mouse response pretty choppy. After looking in the logs I saw that the encoding is listed as:
Game polled D3D11 NV12 + libx264 main (3 threads)
If I understand correctly, that's using my CPU and not my GPU right? And using software encoding. I have 'Enable hardware encoding' ticked but it doesn't seem to make any difference. What am I doing wrong?

Host:
CPU: Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.10GHz
GPU: 3072MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series (ATI AIB)
RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz
Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8H61-MX R2.0
OS: Windows 7 Pro x64
Wired connection to host and client.

That GPU isn´t capable of HW encoding.

Thanks for answer! It'll stop me tearing my hair out trying to figure out what's going on. What AMD chips are? Or am I better off with an Nvidia?

To be honest, it features an encoder chip, but it´s too weak. ;)
Any more recent GPU like Kepler generation on NV side should be able to handle HW encoding. I started with a GTX 670 and it worked out pretty well. Can´t tell for AMD cards, though.
But beware: drivers are always an issue. I had to roll back to previous version several times, because newer drivers broke streaming for me.
