Connect Remote Players Before Game Launch?
There are a number of games currently listed on the store as supporting Steam Remote Play Together that require controllers to be connected before the game launches in order to recognise them. A good example is the sonic racing series.
These games only recognise controllers that were connected before (or at the very early stages of) launching the game. As it stands I can't find any way to invite friends (as in connect the remote computers) before the game launches.

As a proof of the issue, I tried playing these games, again using the example of Sonic All-Stars Transformed and Team Sonic Racing, with 2 friends, but it would not recognise their controllers (game only saw my controller and keyboard as inputs). After launching Sonic All-Stars Transformed, connecting them into the game, alt-tabing out, launching Team Sonic Racing, it could see the additional 2 remote inputs. However, in this scenario, there was no way to transition the stream over to second game (the 2 friends in this situation could only see All-Stars Transformed, even though I had Team Sonic opened, and could see their controllers recognised there)

The only way to bring their stream over seemed to be to disconnect them, and reconnect while tabbed into the new game. At this stage, the game saw their controllers disconnect and wouldn't reconnect them.

Has anyone found a solution for games that require controllers to be connected before starting?

It feels like the easiest solution would be to be able to form a Remote Play lobby of some kind that connects before the game launch, or just migrate the stream between games if it has already been started?

I think the solution to this issue is already present...

You connect 2 Controllers to your Computer, make sure the 2nd Controller
is the same as your friends Controller...

You have to setup Player 2's Controls for Player 2 before you initiate Remote Play
With Friends, anyways... So when you go & connect to Player 2, it should already
think that their Controller is plugged in...

Now, just have Player 2 have their Controller Plugged in, before they accept
the Game Request...

Has anyone tried this yet?

Doing this, should trick your Game into thinking that 2 Controllers are already
plugged in... Before the Connection, but I am only guessing...

Does this work?

For Steam Remote Play, there is still no solution.

Hey guys I fixed this.

Scenario
Host has an XBOX ONE Controller. I owned the game
Guest (my friend) has one too

Expected Behavior
My friend's controller should show under the Remote Play Alt+Tab settings (detected)

Current Behavior
My friend's controller doesn't show under the Remote Play Alt+Tab settings (not detected)

Fix
Go to Steam Interface >> Steam menu >> Settings >> Controller >> General Controller Settings >> Check the Xbox Configuration Support box and then close

I then started the game, initiated the Remote Play party, and his controller showed under the Remote Play Alt+Tab settings (detected)

I hope this helps, let us know if this worked for you.

have anyone came with any solution for this?
like separate the controller connection from the actual remote session for launching the game.
honestly it would be even better if there's an option to disabled screen sharing as well, we have some 3rd party video sharing apps which runs smoother and more realtime than steam's screen sharing. i would love to have only controller connection options
