Reason to use this over parsec?
This seems to be a smaller, simpler version of parsec. It seems pretty useful for most people, but is it (supposed to be) any better than parsec?

I have no Idea, remote play together is really cool but unfortunately limited to certain games.

because it is integrated into steam and does not require a third party program

Maybe after it gets out of beta and gets little bit more development time, can you stream non-steam games through steam btw?

Yes afaik, never tried but some people on reddit said it was possible long time ago.

well, so its basically just more user friendly and integrated into steam. Good enough for what it wants to be, but if its true that not every game supports remote play, then that would be a big downside IMO

I just want to know if the game restrictions will be removed after beta or if there are no plans to remove them so I know what to expect.

You can work around the game restrictions (rename game folders/exes) :P

So, for example, i assume that Enter the Gungeon works with this, lets say i use another game, lets call it game X.exe if i rename X.exe to EnterTheGungeon.exe (or whatever) then it works for game X?

Yeah, make sure to rename the game folder too, then launch Enter The Gungeon through Steam. Not exactly sure if it would work with games that have Steam DRM, I only tested it with one that doesn't (like, San Andreas 1.0 with restored 2 player missions, through Road Redemption, which you can play without Steam even being run)

Cool, good to know, so basically rename everything (Folder, exe) on the game that doesn't work to something that does work, thank you for that

If youre willing to do that, why not just go get parsec? way less restrictions.

if they actually invest development time into steam remote play, then there should be a very good reason to use it over alternative options
