Steam inhome streaming no mouse cursor fix
So if you're like me you want to stream your game to your laptop with in home streaming and use your mouse for said game on said laptop, but you have no mouse cursor in game due to your desktop not having a mouse plugged in. If you don't have easy access to a second mouse to plug in to your desktop so your cursor stays around there is a solution that is dumb as hell but it works. To my knowledge there is no way to simply tell windows to keep the cursor around when you have no mouse plugged in (as there should be). What you have to do instead is go to the ease of access center -> make the mouse easier to use -> check the box next to "turn on mouse keys" this will let you control the mouse cursor with your numpad. Then you have to start mouse keys by pressing "left - alt + left - shift + numlock" at the same time and make sure numlock is on or off dependent on which one you selected in the advanced settings of mouse keys for mouse keys to work. Here's the kicker. In order to get the mouse cursor to stay around you have to unplug your mouse (the cursor will disappear) and restart your computer without a mouse. Once the computer comes back on the cursor should stay around. If you plug the mouse back in then unplug it the cursor will disappear and you will have to once more restart the computer with the mouse unplugged. Yes it sucks but it works. I recommend you set steam to start automatically when your computer boots by going to "steam -> settings -> interface -> and check the box next to "start steam when my computer starts" then make sure steam client bootstrapper is enabled at startup on your task manager so you don't have to start steam with no mouse every time you want to do this.

Thanks!
Quite annoying, but a faster fix than buying a second mouse (which others have suggested in other threads), especially when stores are already closed.

Edit: faster solution
While you have mouse keys disabled (but the options window for that open), unplug the mouse and then ENABLE mouse keys WHILE UNPLUGGED. Saves you the restarting. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to navigate through the options window, check the box and hit apply settings.

Thank you! I was looking for an answer for this problem and yours was spot on. I cannot plug in another mouse as I am travelling and only found out about this problem when I was afar.

Here is an award to you!

or if you have a dummy wireless k/m dongle laying around you could use that
but the eac (virtual) mouse also works

Problem is if you are on a trip and cannot connect it to the computer.
