In-Home Streaming Mass Effect: Andromeda
Hi All,

I was looking at using Steam's streaming to play ME: A and I can get Steam to launch the application, the sound starts to stream and I see a mouse pointer, but it quits after about 10 seconds. Any ideas? Are there any logs I can look at? I noticed that the remote computers say that it's an "OpenVR" application...

I've tried streaming to both Mac and PC, and tried various combinations of fullscreen, windowed, resolution, and framebuffer formats in the game and they all behave the same.

Solution: Steam Remote Desktop!

Now to figure out the audio stutter...

Interesting... no stutter on Windows client. Only on Mac.

The stuttering is a known issue on OSX with all streaming games. It's more noticable on some than others. Open up "Audio Midi Setup" on the OSX machine and select the "48 khz - 2ch 24-bit integer" option.

As for streaming andromeda, I had to use NVFBC, as much as I hate it.

Just add it in Steam, disable all Origin stuff in the origin client (overlay etc.) and run Steam as an administrator. That solved it for me. Game runs quite nicely.

To add to this thread

1) Disable Origin In-Game

In menu go to Origin - choose Application Settings and go to the tab Origin In-Game and disable it.

2) In Steam go in the menu to Games and choose add a Non-Steam Game

add Origin and also add ME Andromeda

3) close Origin and open it from Steam menu, and once started choose ME Andromeda from in the Steam Menu

This works most of the time for games with Origin
