[SOLVED] bad audio when streaming
Hi,

When streaming initially the audio works fine. After a short while (1-2 minutes) the audio stops working.
If the game is relaunched at this point the audio works again, however it's crackling all the time.
If the host is rebooted the scenario repeats itself.

Does annyone have an idea on how to resolve this?


The host is a windows 10 vm running on an unraid server. the client is a windows 10 machine.

Either your VM is not able to directly address your hardware or there´s something wrong with the headless adaptor.

since i'm using the gpu hdmi audio, wouldn't that mean that if the vm can access the gpu, it can also access the gpu audio?

If the VM can access the GPU on hardware level (directly!), then it should be related to the headless adaptor. Since you don´t post any details, it´s all just educated guessing, you know? ;)

The adapter i'm using is a fit headless GS. i have a 2nd one so i'll see if it makes a difference if i use the other one.

I seem to have found a solution for the issue.
The audio output i was using was the graphics card hdmi output. however it was not enabled to use MSI. This can be fixed with a registry tweak.

It also contains a good utility at the bottom to change it without having to dive in the registry yourself. just make sure you run it as administrator.
