Changing Controls
I'm VERY new to the cource engine, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to find the controls (movement, fire, reload) file. Thanks!

Oh, sure thing man. If you navigate to your install directory for HL2, (which for myself is G:\steam games\installed\steamapps\common\half life 2\hl2\) then you will find a few files specified as "bin", "cfg", "downloadlist", "scripts", "sound", etc. To find your basic controls file, you want to navigate to the "cfg" file mentioned before in your hl2 directory. Once in there, find the file titled "config_default". This file will contain every key bound to their set commands.

Hope this helped!

Thanks! I'll try that later today.

I love that this took like MONTHS to get a response lol. I just joined this group because i am trying to code up a custom Alyxgun and Camera for the HL2 series. I am looking for literally ANY help i can get.

Based on how long it took for me to get a response, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. This group feels dead.

You done much modding since you joined the group? I'd love to find more modders to work with, or even people with a passion for modding.

Not really, since the lack of community discouraged me a lot. What kind of mod are you planning?

I've been trying my best to create an "Alyxgun" useable by the player for the half life 2 series. Now, i know it has been done a few times but, not well enough in my opinion. SMOD did it pretty well, but, for that you need SMOD. My goal was to make it purely for Half Life 2 games without many other mods. So, i set out and have basically 100% completed my task, with the edition of a custom slow motion mod that gradually slows down time, adds sounds and fade-ins/fade-outs. The Alyxgun itself is fully functioning with working fire animations and even a fixed custom reload sound. The textures are all functional too, and it has a holster feature with its own sounds. So far so good, but the one thing i was unable to do was add "ViewKick", which is the effect of your screen bouncing when the pistol is fired for enhanced realism.
