The Hero of Kendrickstone

I will be the first to admit romance isn't a big feature of the game, but you've included other entries just based on subtext, or in the case of Wasteland 2 being able to visit a brothel as a female character

Within Hero of Kendrickstone, you are able to pick your orientation, and even try to pursue a romance in between some of the bigger scene. Admittedly, long term romance doesn't seem to succeed, but there may be a hidden romance (if so I haven't figured it out.)

The reason I am suggesting it is due to three scenes which occure between the main chapters.

First, you are able to pick your gender from the start.

Second, the start of Chapter 4, there is a small interlude where you can do things with your time. Some are only available depending on your class (warrior, wizard, thief, bard) or what skill levels you have. A wizard will have the option to heal someone. The big option is that you can choose to look for companionship.


Third, at the Start of chapter 5, the above choices come up again. However, if you were successful in raising your reputation, then picking 'I roam the taverns, looking for attractive companionship' will net you a different change. For example, if you decide to not accept any rewards, you can get the following text, and choices:

Each night, you seek out the brightly lit windows and laughter-filled common rooms of the alehouses and public halls around the great marketplace that stands in the shadow of the Wizard's tower.

At first, you are a bit nervous. After all, you often find yourself groping for words around others. However, you soon realize that word of your exploits has done what a silver tongue could never do alone.

It seems the stories of your previous deeds have filtered to the taverns of Kendrickstone. Young men and women gravitate towards you, pressing you for tales of your adventures, with the bright eyes of those enamored enough with your reputation to overlook any slips of the tongue you might make.

Ultimately, your reputation makes you the most welcome recipient of the attentions of Kendrickstone's…

Pretty young women.
Handsome young men.
Men and women of youth and attractiveness.

As you notice, you can pick with gender you are attracted to.


From there, then you get another screen/text:

Indeed, your roguish charm and quick wit make you almost irresistible to the young women of the city.

The question remains though, how do you behave yourself in such pursuits?

I'm here to fulfil my own lusts—that's all.
I want to make others happy, if only for a night.
I'm looking for something long-term.

You get another opportunity in Chapter 7 (assuming your reptutation is high enough), and get choices like:

I pursue my own thirsts. Who else matters?
Mutual pleasure, but no commitment.
I want stability. I want peace. I want love.

Of course, I understand if you decide this isn't enough to go with.
