There might still be subtext, and they suggested that depending on interest there could be a more romantic spinoff eventually. Either way I still intend to play it so I'll have more to say later.
I can't add everything with subtext, though, it would drown out the games that are more clear on the subject and make the list unhelpful. So it really will depend on how strong and how deliberate any hinting is.
Given the author's official statement, I don't expect this to pass, but we'll see.
One of the Bad Endings is titled "Is That... Love?" in the English version. In this ending, the main character stays with her best friend so they can die together. Aside from the title, there isn't much to go on.
One of the original True Endings (-Princess of drops-) shows a strong friendship between the two main female characters, but romance is only implied/subtextual. One of the characters blurts out that they love the other in one scene, but it's never brought up again.
One of the new endings (-the limited ocean of the life-) has two almost-couples that are very friendly with each other, but again it's limited to subtext and there is no specific mention of romance. I feel like this ending has the strongest romantic subtext, but as someone that projects such subtext onto things I'm not the best judge.
Non-spoiler version: I feel like there's enough subtext to make the argument that some of the characters might like each other romantically, but there is no actual romance between them within the story itself.
My first non-bad ending was Princess of Drops, which combines several declarations of 'love' (if in a friendly context) with Himeno being clearly the goal you're fighting for and the damsel you're rescuing, with the final CG of ~holding hands~. It still isn't explicitly romantic but it's important to the plot and not a thing you'd miss.
That bad end name I wouldn't count. And I'm probably not going to get to any other non-bad endings tonight, so I'll update this more after I've played a bit more.
Here's the thread the post is from.[lemmasoft.renai.us]
There's never anything other than friendship which can be read in a subtexty way, but it's not like they're *opposed* to yuri.
