* Not really intersted in the 1st in the series ... Corpse Party ...

* Dam I just read ... Heavenly Host Elementary ... is this a Lolita tale ...

* CRAP ... "specifically including the mutilation, torture, and murder of children"

MATURE CONTENT DESCRIPTION
The developers describe the content like this:

This title is a horror visual novel with point-and-click interaction. Contains excessive violence and gore depicted via full-screen art stills, textual descriptions, and Japanese-language voice-acting, specifically including the mutilation, torture, and murder of children. Also contains images of female anime-style characters with exposed underwear or cleavage, shown in restraints, or in one instance shown bathing together with strategically placed steam to cover up private areas. Numerous examples of foul language can be found in translated text, including slurs such as "b*tch" and heavy swears such as "f*ck."

Wow ... has STEAM become a depository ... for ... everything goes ...
My stomach hurts ... from just reading the store page ...
No wonder I stay away from horror games ...

When it comes to this group's list, I'm not sure any of the Corpse Party games would qualify for much more than something to the effect of "lesbians are implied to exist in-universe", with a warning that most of the characters die.

This particular game has two characters who are all but stated to be lesbian, but neither gets into a relationship and both die. There are also two ambiguously bi girls, but neither has a relationship with another girl and one of them dies.

The thing I will always remember about Corpse Party is the spoon and the eyeball...

I think for the moment having it in the discussion thread for people to find info if they want is probably enough. Kind-of-hinting but never really actually going anywhere? Nah.

(I admit to being slightly more lenient on borderline cases if the devs actually give me a copy, since that suggests they WANT us to read it. They haven't given me this, so.)

If you really want to get your yuri fix I wouldn't look into Corpse Party at all. It's a very bloody horror VN game. While it's true that one of the none playable characters is very very gay for someone and the feelings might be reciprocated, but it still felt very much more like Best Girl Pal Forever situation. Corpse Party 1: Although it's possible to kiss Seiko in the 3DS Corpse Party, but that was technically a dream sequence. Be prepared for lots of emotional abuse if you want to get into Corpse Party series.

Corpse Party 1, BoS, and Blood Drive spoilers:
Unless you like tragedy a lot and gut-wrenching pain, this relationship is going to end horribly. One is going to die, the other is going to forever bear the guilt. The whole point of Book of Shadows is Ayumi (kind of the cause of the situation in the first game) trying to resurrect/undo the stuff that happened in the first game, which includes the dead yuri friend. To even bring home the tragedy train/developer/s malevolent will, the two had a fight and Naomi said some harsh things right before Seiko/yuri friend dies. How did the dead yuri friend die? Killed by her love interest Naomi when said love interest was possessed by evil spirit. The screwed up part is Naomi discovers the dead body first without being aware that she did the deed. She later finds out in third person view that she was the one who done Seiko in.

Whatever cute yuri recollections between Naomi and Seiko are just going to hit even harder with the pain train when you realize things are just going to get far, far worse. As Book of Shadows left things on a cliffhanger which heavily hints towards things getting even more out of hand than before. And if you play Blood Drive, basically the world may end because Ayumi tried to use Book of Shadows in the second game. Oops.

The only silver lining in this series is that despite how the screwed up Spooky Dimension have a tendency to turn all the people who died in it vengeful spiteful evil spirits out to kill everyone, you never ever see Seiko attempt to harm anyone. Even though Naomi killed Seiko, she never once harbored an ounce of hatred towards her friend. Although that probably just twists that feels knife even deeper for us readers.

You think Naomi got off easy? Nope. The thing with dying in the Spooky Dimension is that if people die in there, they no longer exist in the real world. So when Seiko died in there, people outside will no longer remember her except for the people who were trapped in the dimension. Naomi desperately wants to prove to the people around her that Seiko did exist. But her mother thought she was crazy and tried to find her professional help. The girls in Corpse Party got the worst part of the bargain when it comes to survival. The guys in contrast got off pretty damn easy. In Blood Drive, you see the mother's mentality degenerated to such a degree that she was really getting fed up Naomi and may have even tried to hurt Naomi physically. You can see Naomi really going off the deep end in Blood Drive when she was alone by herself.

The only good thing that came out of the final chapter in the Heavenly Host arc is that all the people who died in the cursed school are no longer erased by the school. So after Blood Drive's events people will remember Seiko exists and Naomi isn't cuckoo. Pre Ayumi's intervention, those erased by the school were replaced by some kind of magical universal standin people fillers. Which frankly imo, only digs a bigger plot hole than before. Because after Ayumi did her thing, those stand-ins are now gone. It's not like those fillers were cupboard cutouts either, they were actually real people. One of them was even your school teacher and was very much an integral part of the plot in Blood Drive. So... WTF?

tl;dr. It's a game called Corpse Party. How happy do you think this can be?

I feel like this is getting off topic, but to clarify a few points in the spoiler text by Paper Rabbit:

Not sure what you mean about the male characters having a better survival rate, since only two survive the existing story arc (versus the six girls).

If there is a plot hole with the reshuffled character histories, it's not that the "replacements" didn't exist. Aiko even points out at the end of Blood Drive that her sister still existed before and after the rewrite, she just was never a teacher in the final timeline. Basically, the "replacements" are just filling the gaps they would have filled if the lost ones had never been born.

More on topic, I stand by my original assessment. Having been with the series for a while, I can say with some level of certainty that this series is not intended as a "yuri" work. (Therefore, the publisher wouldn't be handing out a review copy to a yuri curator.) It is primarily a horror series, with strong elements of guro (eroticised gore). Aside from noting implied lesbians and bi girls in the cast, it's really not a game for a list of yuri content.

I mean dealing with post crisis issues. The guys got off without a whole lot of emotional baggage unlike the other 2. Granted considering what Ayumi and Naomi had done... Both are carrying a tremendous amount of burden, pain, guilt, etc. As much as Seiko wants to tell Naomi it's not her fault, it's still not something Naomi will be able to come to terms for a long, long time. And Ayumi...

Blood Drive shenanigan:
The ending was confusing for me. The Perfect Life staff basically went ??? why do we have a missing CEO. While Aiko still have memories of her sister, but since she was the affected party and inside Heavenly Host the whole time. It would make sense she would still remember bits and pieces of Kuon sensei. BD's story on a whole was... convoluted? I can understand the Heavenly Host's curse erasing people and causing them to no longer be remembered => their portaits in the photograph are missing faces. But it's not like all their life's achievements + possessions also just went poof? Yui sensei died in original corpse party, ok. So we would get new teacher to replace her by normal logic. But then BD comes along and the explanation is more: You are now on a different timeline/universe where these people who died in HH were actually these alter people. Kuon sensei instead of Yui sensei. But we look at the group photo the pictures are still darkened. Kuon remembers Satoshi and company from pre HH, but obviously this wasn't the same in reverse. Was Kuon 100% CEO first timeline, but took over parts of Yui's duties + memories? How does this work? If these replacements also already exists, what about their original roles? You still have people shaped holes when it comes to existence. Does Corpse Party timelines just does whatever it wants even outside of Heavenly Host?

@Paper Rabbit: It might be best to move the side discussion somewhere else if it's still confusing and you'd like to ask more. (Maybe like on my Tumblr or on the Corpse Party Jcink forum.) As a short answer, I think you may be overcomplicating things. I'll try to make a less spoilery analogy:

There are potential teachers A, B, and C. There is one position at the school. A gets the job, and the other two have to look for work elsewhere.

In a different universe, A does not exist. B gets the job. Those who come from the universe that had A as a teacher who then live in universe B will slowly forget about A, because they are in an incompatible worldstate.

Those who came from worldstate A and lived in worldstate B go back to worldstate A. They have memories of B being a teacher, even though B is an office worker in their universe. The memories of these travellers will eventually alter until they only remember universe A and the fact a trip was made to universe B at one point.

Basically, many alternate timelines in the Corpse Party universe work almost like a programming priority list. To use another game example, it's possible for certain characters to die in certain ways in Mass Effect 2 if they are the top of the death priority list when you make a mistake in the suicide mission. Those characters have distinct story roles, but they can fill the same slots for that mission if you make certain decisions.

As for Kuon, she was just a CEO in the original/final timelines. I believe this is either mentioned or hinted at in flashbacks and the ending. She only became a teacher in the timelines where Yui was erased.
