So ... the question is ...
Can you mod the main charcter to be a woman & be "romantic" with women?
Then the dialog with the lesbian hostess would be hilarious:
* "I trust you, but you know I'm gay"
... And ...
Your character's inner voice would be:
* "So you are rejecting me cause I'm a mod lesbian?"
* "Please just let me wip out my code & be nakedly honest with you."
I know that would win my heart with laughter ...
And ... eh ... if not ... the Beachgrrls song "I wish they could all be lesbian grrls" ... just rings in my mind ... when it just doesn't cum to be with another woman ...
Don't miss out ...

Kiss the Girl
By Ashley Tisdale
There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss girl
Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
It's possible she wants you too
There's one way to ask her
It don't take a word, not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl, kiss the girl ...
Yes, the protagonist is [mister big tough male gangster] called Kazuma Kiryu, and the game tells the story about his life as a gangster. It's not the kind of game where you create a character.
His quest throughout the game is to look for a woman he is in love with, but she's on the run and he has to look after a little girl who's a relative of hers, while being constantly attacked and having to deal with gangster life.
As a side-quest, he can go to hostess bars for company.
And it's at one of these which he meets a friendly lesbian called Rina. So - the player goes in with the expectation of heterosexual romantic interaction, but gets to talk to her instead.
And he still gets to see her prancing about almost-naked if he's successful in being friendly enough and pursues persistently, for some reason. (in my case, I unlocked it by playing darts against her and the pub staff said there's a special prize draw going on, and we happened to win a night in a love hotel)
I'm telling you this more as a "background lesbians" thing, rather than a recommendation.
We *do* list games with male protagonists that have prominent wlw npcs in them. However, if she's a minor optional background NPC and is never actually seen with another girl, just sort of talks about being gay while stripping for the protagonist, that's more of a 'probably not'.
Still handy to know for discussion though!
I did read it, however I must have focused on the lesbian part while missing the other more related content. I guess that's what happens for posting late at night when I'm tired. Anyway like Hanako mentioned is she actually shown with another girl or does she just talk about liking girls?
The Yakuza series generally treat women as eye candy, no matter what they have to say. It's not a terribly progressive series, more of a male power fantasy. Curb stomp gangsters and buy fun times at hostess clubs... I classify it as comedic drama, when I care to think about it.
Kiryu is this saintly knight in shining armor, the "honorable gangster"... who also happens to frequent hostess clubs and buy some quality time with the ladies.
It's very, very Japanese and therefore very, very strange to us dumb gaijin.

There being pointless bisexuality censorship from the localisers makes more sense as a story than "she's gay but decides to dance about in her underwear for [male protagonist] in the name of strong friendship".
(And yeah, Rina has some really weird ideas about gender in some of her conversations)
Fight unlimited thugs, constantly drink and smoke like you'll die of multiple organ failure in your 30s, enter slot car tounaments and play [some arcade card game that's like Dinosaur King but with female models wrestling while dressed as various insects] against primary-school-age children. And then there's this weird dude called Majima who seems to be in love with you in a "Joker loves Batman" kind of way. It's a really weird game which is often completely ridiculous while the protagonist plays it completely deadpan and honorable like he's some noble samurai. It's really funny.
Yeah ... lately, I have been watching more Japanese anime, than I care to admit to, coming to the realization that the English sub & dub versions mostly don't match ...
When my Japanese grrlfriend "K" stops blushing at the anime's that I have her watch with Donna & me, she tells me to "stop being lazy & learn Japanese" as she tries to explain the relationships ... while I make love to her with my eyes ... thanking her with a kiss on her soft petite lips when she finishes ...
Makes my Donna quite firey jealous (who is learning that my impulse to kiss grrls is just my way of saying hello or thanks) ... then ... I always follow up by giving my sweet Donna a deep long passionate kiss telling her she's the only one who gets those now ... my one & only sparkling Donna who quenches me completely in her love ...
Such a lovely lesbian dilemma,

Progressive and Yakuza doesn't really work anyway. Organized Crime in general tend to avoid any changes. As for the series, it's pretty much the cliche of the hotblooded yakuza youngster, that doesn't really exists irl. Yakuza is all about traditional shady businessmen, who try to stay under the radar and avoid any obvious conflicts with the law.
