Well... damn. Looks like it's gonna happen all over again.
“I can only speak for the present time, but currently there are no plans for a payment system”
Presently, there currently aren't plans. I guess that would put people off pre-ordering.
Possible CHANCE. Garry Newman (or should I say, Garry Profane-Jerk F. Newdevilman) is going to deploy a PAYWALL on the GMod Workshop. If possible, please do be prepared.

GET THOSE PICKET FENCES UP PEOPLE!
Paid mods on the other hand...
@Tounaï: Forbidding DLCs seems a bit over the top. Quite frankly I'd hate to see them go as some games just wouldn't properly work without DLCs. Take Influent as an example, removing the option for DLCs from Influent would break the game totally. I know many publishers abuse DLCs, but then fight against that, and not DLCs in general.
Please? :3
I'm leaving my negative review of Skyrim up as a reminder for everyone to keep their guard up. Valve's statement hinted that this would reappear, sometime down the line, in another corner of Steam. It would seem we're not quite out of the woods yet.
Let's prevent the exploitation of modders, and resist the DRMification of mods. And let's not give publishers any incentive to release broken or incomplete games.
45% for the game developer? Well, they are the ones making the game so it's fair if they get a lot.
But 30% for steam and 25% for modders? Are they stupid or what? What does steam do that makes them deserve more money from a mod then the modder? Theoretically I love the idea, but whenever it pops up with these madly unfair numbers I'll join the riot.
Welcome to capitalism, this is been happening for all sorts of jobs, whenever there is a more profitable way to do things, companies do it.
Get out and see the real world for fucks sakes, this isn't anything new, embrace it because that's what's coming, oh and you kids are getting the worse, in a few decades robots/software will replace many jobs.
So instead of worrying about petty video games, worry about studying and finding a job that cannot be replaced.
Change that 75% profit to Steam/Beth to modders, and see how little people complain about this.
(Even though it is a fact that rubbish greedy childish modders have heard the calling. Donate option would be the most reasonable idea)
Trying to make you understand isn't.
