I’m pleased to announce two new upgrades to our M16 rifle:

1. The rifle’s virtual scope now includes a one-shot kill feature (boost-damage). This feature, when activated, temporarily amplifies the damage of the initial few shots. To fully exploit this enhancement, players need to have quick reflexes.
   
   
2. In addition to the default automatic fire mode, the rifle now supports burst and single-shot fire modes. Players can toggle between these modes using the [WALK] key.

The boost-damage feature empowers players to take down Specail-infected with a single shot to any part of the body. This becomes particularly handy when a teammate is trapped by a Hunter or Smoker, especially if they're far from you. The M16 scope is on par with the scope-firepower of the hunting rifle. It’s crucial to remember that the M16’s damage booster doesn’t affect Witches, Tanks, or Zombies. However, Zombies can be effectively killed with a single headshot, eliminating the need for boost damage.

Noteworthy in the finale is the replacement of the 'scavenge' event with the classic 'holdout' event, aligning it more authentically with the original game.

I believe it's important to convey some pertinent information regarding the unique game difficulty modes offered by the HardA server. As some of you may recall, in April, the server introduced another novel gameplay feature: Survivor Bot Helpers, which now offers four difficulty modes that transition from 'Softcore-Expert' to 'Extreme-Expert,' effectively creating a single server that technically functions as if it were four distinct modded servers.

Since my April post, I now deem it prudent to further elaborate on the intricacies of the HardA server and how each of the four unique difficulty modes acts as a server in its own right. Allow me to clarify: when we use HardA's unique DCM interface to change each difficulty, another mode of operation is introduced, and major adjustments are made to the number and frequency of the Infected spawning. For comparison, here are the four modes and their percentage differences when compared to the highest difficulty:

* Extreme Expert Mode (EEM) - Infected spawn at the highest number and fastest rate.
* Standard Expert Mode - Spawning of the Infected is 15% lower than EEM.
* Advanced Mode - Spawning is 20% lower than EEM.
* Public Expert Mode - Spawning is 35% lower than EEM.

Incidentally, all our difficulties abide by the vanilla game's ruleset when survivors are damaged by the Infected. As can be seen above, the new ‘Public Expert’ mode provides a softer-core game experience with the lowest spawns. Moreover, when combined with our Helper-Bots the game difficulty is mitigated even further. Ironically, this is easier than our DCM's ‘advanced’ mode, with spawns that are 15% lower than the advanced setting, which can seem counter-intuitive from a member's perspective, but it won't seem that way from the public player's viewpoint because they can't access the DCM interface to know the difference in how the server's difficulty modes work.

To reiterate my April post: it's important to realize that the HardA server now has the 'Public Expert' mode as the default option when players join the server. This mode is designed to better assist new players and acquaint them with HardA games in a more 'friendly' way, rather than exposing them to the harder-core aspects of the gameplay right away. Additionally, this mode also caters to HardA members who may sometimes prefer a more casual gameplay experience, especially if they play the game solo or have not played the server in a while.

In conclusion, since the introduction of the new hybrid game mode in April 2023, I have more news to share: The HardA server has extended its services to our sister group, VSFG, creating additional opportunities for VSFG members who appreciate custom campaigns. Importantly, they can now join the HardA server on the 'Public Expert' game mode at the default setting, offering them that 'friendlier' gameplay experience.
