"Redux" Version with Vanilla Billboards, Ads, etc
First, I LOVE LOVE this mod!

That said, is there a way to remove the "real" adverts that replaced all the parody ads that came with the game? In short, I'd like to roll this one change out while preserving everything else. I know they likely won't be as hi-res as their replacements, but I still would much prefer them to seeing actual product ads in the game. Before anyone says it, I know just about all the "real" ads have snarky taglines that lampoon them in one way or another. :JeonHappy:

• Summary
The only way to replace Redux's ads with vanilla ads is to do it manually. That means locating and backing up the vanilla ads from the original files then replacing the modded ads. While I don't know all the locations of the ads, I've done some research for you and based on other mods that replace ads, I can point you in a good direction where you may be able to figure out how to help yourself.

Below are file paths for ads derived from Real Billboards / Werbeplakate mod by All Hafi.

• Restoring GTA V's Default Ads/Billboard Files
• The following requires the use of OpenIV[openiv.com] and an understanding of how to mod GTA V.
• Remember to backup files before changing them.
• Vanilla folder structure: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Grand Theft Auto V\
• Mods folder structure: C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Grand Theft Auto V\mods
• To replace the files -- do the following based on the file paths provided:
  1. Backup each original RPF from the GTA V vanilla files, storing them in properly named folders as to not mix them up.
  2. Replace the corresponding RPF within the mods folder with the vanilla RPF that you backed up in step 1 above.

    • Example:
    - Backup → \Grand Theft Auto V\x64j.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\indust_02\id2_21_b.rpf
    - Replace → \Grand Theft Auto V\mods\x64j.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\indust_02\id2_21_b.rpf
• Original RPF File Paths
• Below is a list of file paths for various RPF files.
• Root folder is C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Grand Theft Auto V\.
  1. \x64j.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\indust_02\id2_21_b.rpf
  2. \x64k.rpf\levels\gta5\_citye\port_01\po1_05.rpf
  3. \x64l.rpf\levels\gta5\_cityw\airport_01\ap1_03.rpf
  4. \x64m.rpf\levels\gta5\_cityw\sanpedro_01\sp1_04.rpf
  5. \x64m.rpf\levels\gta5\_cityw\sanpedro_01\sp1_07.rpf
  6. \x64m.rpf\levels\gta5\_cityw\sanpedro_01\sp1_11.rpf
  7. \x64m.rpf\levels\gta5\_cityw\sanpedro_01\sp1_12.rpf

Wow, this is an incredible response - thank you so much! I already have the unmodded rpf files thanks to a backup, so between my comfort level with GTA5 modding and your providing all the locations of the ads, this will be fairly easy to accomplish.

I almost get the impression you've prepped this for a previous poster - it's really well thought-out - but I couldn't find any similar posts, surprisingly.

i'm here 5 years later and this data seems to be outdated, i restored said rpfs and still see cocacola and ikea billboards
Meteora Jan 3, 2024 @ 4:51pm
I have a solution to restore vanilla billboards:

-Files that have to be replaced in their entirety from vanilla rpf:
x64j.rpf
x64k.rpf
x64l.rpf
x64m.rpf
x64q.rpf
x64r.rpf
x64t.rpf
x64u.rpf

----------------------

-The following files have to be extracted from the vanilla rpf and put inside redux modded files:

/update/x64/dlcpacks/patchday2ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/_citye/scentral_01/sc1_20.rpf

x64f.rpf/levels/gta5/props/roadside/v_signs.rpf ->
prop_juicestand+hifr.ytd

x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/interiors/v_int_metro_subway1.rpf
x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/interiors/v_int_metro_subway2.rpf
x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/interiors/v_int_metro_subway3.rpf
x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/interiors/v_int_metro_subway4.rpf
x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/interiors/v_int_metro_subway5.rpf
x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/interiors/v_int_metro_subway6.rpf
x64h.rpf/levels/gta5/props/roadside/v_utility.rpf ->
prop_busstop_04+hifr.ytd
prop_busstop_05+hifr.ytd

x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_03.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_09.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_12.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_14.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_15.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_16.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_17.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_18.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_20.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_21.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_22.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_24.rpf
x64i.rpf/levels/gta5/_citye/downtown_01/dt1_25.rpf

----------------------

-x64g.rpf optional, contains 3d models and texture of various objects (soda cans, pizza box etc..) you could leave it as it is or extract the following files from vanilla rpfs:

x64g.rpf/levels/gta5/generic/procobj.rpf ->
ng_proc_box_02a.ydr (7/eleven box 3d model)
ng_proc_food_burg02c.ydr (mcdonald's food box 3d model)
ng_proc_food_chips01a.ydr (lay's chips pack 3d model)
ng_proc_litter_plasbot1.ydr (littered coke bottle 3d model)
ng_proc_litter_plasbot2.ydr (littered sprite bottle 3d model)
ng_proc_paper_burger01a.ydr (mcdonald's paper wrap 3d model)
ng_proc_pizza01a.ydr (pizza hut pizza box)
ng_proc_sodabot_01a.ydr (coke bottle 3d model)
ng_proc_sodacup_01c.ydr (burger king soda cup)
ng_proc_sodacup_02b001.ydr (wendy's soda cup)
ng_proc_binbag_02a.yft (7/eleven trash bag 3d model)
ng_proc_food_bag01a.yft (mcdonald's food bag)
ng_proc_food_bag02a.yft (mcdonald's trashed food bag)
ng_proc_coffee.ytd (starbucks coffee cup texture)
ng_proc_food.ytd (mdonald's food box texture)
ng_proc_litter01.ytd (coke bottle texture)
ng_proc_sodacan.ytd (coke can texture)
ng_proc_sodacup.ytd (wendy's soda cup texture)

Edit: this won't change ads on trucks, race cars etc..
